Youth Innovation Day 2019

IN CANADA, INNOVATION BELONGS TO EVERYONE
The 2019 Annual Innovation Day is on May 26th in Olympic Oval. It is a one day of events, activities, learning opportunities, and more for people of young ages and backgrounds.
Youth Innovation Day developers by Canada Royal Northville College to help high school students understand and explore entrepreneurship, innovation and growing opportunities provided by innovation in Canada. Having developed insight and skills, students will return to their schools and communities with a new perspective on what is possible and how they can help make a positive impact for all Canadians.

YOUTH INNOVATION DAY – MAY 26th, 2019
This upcoming iteration will take place May 26th, 2019 and will feature a return of the Innovation Forum-expanded to include a B2B Startup Trade Show, the comprehensive Transportation Forum, child and youth programmings.

WORKSHOP

A. Grades 6-12 – Stimulating Simulations
Step into the life of a computational scientist and explore all of the possible outcomes of everyday phenomena! Learn how scientists use computers to solve real problems in STEM. BC Science Curriculum Links: Principles of Computational Thinking, Programming Logic Structures, Impacts of Computers and Technology on Society
B. Grades 6-12 – Magnificent Micro-controllers
Students will learn how microcontrollers are used in robotic applications as the “brain” of the robot, collecting sensory inputs and turning them into actions. Students will create circuits to connect an arduino to sensors and actuators, and write a program that controls the system.
